Privacy statement

Leuk aan Zee rents out a single holiday apartment on the Wapenplein in Ostend. The owner is the controller of the data collected through this website. You can reach us using the contact details at the bottom of this page.

When you submit the request form, we process your name, email address, phone number if given, the dates you want, the number of guests and your message. We use these only to answer your request and, if you book, to arrange the stay.

The legal basis is performance of a contract at your request and, where that does not apply, our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. We do not send newsletters and do not use your details for advertising.

This site asks for nothing beyond what it needs: no account, no profile, no tracking of your browsing.

The website runs on Cloudflare, which handles the technical requests as our host and protects against abuse. For sending email we use Resend. Both process data solely on our instructions.

The map on this site comes from OpenStreetMap. When the map loads, your IP address is passed to OpenStreetMap, as with any image served from another server. No cookies are set in the process.

We do not sell your data and do not share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

This website sets no cookies to track or recognise you. That is why you see no cookie banner: there is nothing to accept or decline.

The fonts are served from our own server, not from an external service.

Requests that do not lead to a booking are kept for at most twelve months. Data relating to a stay that did take place is kept for as long as the law or our bookkeeping requires.

You may ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, and object to the processing. Send a message to the email address below; we reply within a month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
